Ten years, ten editions. One consistent aim.

Public Relations Week Indonesia was a decade-long educational campaign designed to strengthen public relations as a strategic function — building harmony and public trust across Indonesia’s institutions, private and government sectors, academia, and media. It ran annually from 2005 to 2014.

What PR Week Was

EGA briefings’ earliest sustained PR education campaign.

Public Relations Week Indonesia began in 2005, the year after Elizabeth Goenawan Ananto completed her Ph.D in Business Management — a deliberate step to ground the campaign’s thinking in management discipline rather than communication theory alone.

Unlike EGA briefings’ later international programming, PR Week Indonesia was a domestic, annual commitment. Ten consecutive editions, each built around a theme that responded to where the profession stood that year — from corporate social responsibility and reputation-building in its early years, through professionalism and accountability, to positioning PR within corporate strategy, and finally risk, issue, and crisis management as the campaign closed out its final edition in 2014.

The campaign ran across six locations in two cities — largely Jakarta, with its final edition hosted in Yogyakarta — reflecting a decade of continuous, hands-on relationship-building with Indonesia’s PR and communication community.

PR Week Indonesia and Today

The campaign concluded. The groundwork remains.

PR Week Indonesia ran for ten consecutive years and concluded in 2014 — the same year EGA briefings brought its educational campaign work onto the global stage with the second edition of the International PR Summit.

What it built — a decade of sustained relationship with Indonesia’s PR community, the institutional discipline of running consistent annual programming, and a body of case material that now informs the Academy — carries forward into EGA briefings’ current work. The Annual Conference, launched in 2024, continues that same commitment to convening Indonesia’s communication leaders, now focused on senior organizational leadership rather than the broader profession.

What’s Active Now

EGA briefings continues to build Indonesia’s PR education landscape — through the Annual Conference, the Academy, and ongoing campaign like Diskusi PR bersama EGA.
