What the Summit was

Indonesia’s biennial meeting with the global PR community.

The International PR Summit was EGA briefings’ most ambitious educational initiative — a biennial strategic forum designed to bring the thinking of the global public relations community into direct contact with Indonesia’s practitioners, academics, and organizational leaders.

Each edition gathered senior PR practitioners, communication academics, and organizational leaders from across the Asia-Pacific and beyond — alongside Indonesia’s own community of communicators — to examine the strategic challenges of the moment and what they meant for the profession.

The Summit was not a public conference. It was a professionally curated forum — selective in its speaker roster, serious in its content, and consistent in its conviction that Indonesia’s PR community deserved access to the same quality of thinking as their counterparts in London, New York, Singapore and many part of the world.

“The international dimension mattered. Not because Indonesian PR needed foreign validation, but because strategic communication is a global discipline — and Indonesia’s practitioners deserved access to the same thinking as their counterparts elsewhere.”

— Elizabeth Goenawan Ananto, Ph.D, FIPRA · Founding Director, EGA briefings

Over ten years, EGA briefings facilitated the participation of more than fifty international experts — consultants, researchers, and senior practitioners — in Indonesia’s professional education landscape. Alongside these international voices, the Summit consistently drew Indonesia’s own senior communicators, academics, and organizational leaders.

The Summit concluded in 2022. Its record stands as one of the most sustained international PR education initiatives Indonesia has hosted.

IPRS and Today

The Summit concluded.
The conviction continues.

The International PR Summit ran for a decade and produced six editions. It concluded in 2022. The program is not returning in its original format.

What it built — the community of internationally-informed PR professionals, the track record of EGA briefings as a credible convener of global thinking, the body of knowledge from fifty international speakers — carries forward into EGA briefings’ current work.

The EGA briefings Annual Conference, launched in 2024, is the successor forum — designed for Indonesia’s senior organizational leaders rather than the broader PR community. Different audience. The same conviction.

What’s Active Now

EGA briefings continues to build Indonesia’s PR education landscape — through the Annual Conference, the Academy, and ongoing campaign like Diskusi PR bersama EGA.
